BWSA Jr Smallbore Invitational/FONRA fundraiser
We decided to create this event to provide a venue for new shooters to be able to experience a friendly and fun
competition side by side with experienced competitive shooters. Then it became a fundraiser when the BWSA
board of directors generously decided to donate the income from the event to the Blue Water Friends Of the NRA
charity banquet.
On Saturday February 20 we started with a mini-prone match. This consisted of two 20 shot stages on A-17 targets
in 20 minutes per individual. Then we took a lunch break to enjoy the very nice array of food and drink that
volunteers donated to help raise funds. Scores were totaled and awards were presented to the top three shooters
in each of three age brackets (10-12,13-15,16-18).
After lunch, we picked teams by drawing names out of a hat and held a mini-skirmish (2 timed stages/team). In the
first stage the teams had to see how fast they could break 2" tiles. The second stage had them breaking medium
dog biscuits. Skirmish scores Prone scores
We were thrilled to have shooters from both Detroit Sportsmen's Congress and Oakland County Sportsman's Club
came to lend their support. Everyone had a good time and we were able to raise $237 for The Friends of The NRA.
We'll even that amount up to $250 with another small donation from the Jr smallbore staff in order to bring our total
donation up to the "sponsorship" level. A "Sponsorship" will get us a nice statue to commemorate this years' event
and help promote next years' banquet. Some of our shooters will present this amount at the BWFONRA charity
banquet on May 6th.
Please join us at the Blue Water Friends of the NRA banquet and help support the shooting sports. Follow the link

Thanks for participating and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
